Hello,
I decided to build an arcade machine. I've been getting more into electronics lately. More specifically Wiring and Arduino. This won't really include Arduino but I have wanted to do this for a while. I began by researching online about arcade machines. I was planning on just making a bar top machine but really wanted to have a full-size machine. So I began watching a bunch of videos about it before finding some plans online as well as another guy's build process. :

He made his with a whole computer. I plan on using an old raspberry pi I've had for a few years. That way at least something in this project will cost less. I picked up some controls off Amazon and 3/4 inch MDF from Home Depot. I began by scaling up the plans that he used. I will not be following one to one but his process is good for getting a general idea.

I began by drawing from this plan based on the measurements. Like I said, not doing one-to-one plus these plans are not super great. It doesn't really tell you the angles so I just eyeballed them. Plus they are in MM so I had to convert the measurements to inches since I don't have a MM ruler or tape measure. Right now I've cut some of the cuts. Mainly the straight ones since I'm waiting on some stuff to be able to cut this. Decided to get a Japanese hand saw because I can do small cuts with it. I also made a little guideline 3d model in tinkercad to help me lay out some stuff. It is not professional in any way but I don't normally 3d model so great experience.
It's good enough to get the point across. I also purchased a vinyl print I designed. It's designed for a 24 inch width. Height is however you would want to use it. Just expand it if it's too short. I used paint.net to make it. It has an easy way to expand without changing the dimensions.
I plan on wrapping the machine in black vinyl. I may also need another sheet of MDF which I'm not happy about since it's $54 a piece. I'm already in this for like 200 so not that bad but still. the cheaper I can make this the better. I'm sourcing the wood for the base from my basement since we have some 2x4s there.
So for now ill get back once I cut this side and the other to connect to the base. I decided that making one side and tracing to the other would be better.
